The Artemide Castore suspension lamps for indoors, design by Michele De Lucchi and Huub Ubbens

The Artemide Castore Suspension Lamp range is composed of a simple round globe pendant lights in different sizes, with an acid etched blown glass diffuser. The Castore from Artemide was designed by Michele De Lucchi and Hubb Ubbens in 2003, and is a cable suspended luminaire for diffused incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent lighting.

The spherical diffuser design is enhanced by a loose-fitting and tapering luminous stem, that makes a sweet transition from the strong diffuser light to the blind lamp structure area. The ceiling rose and the stem are in thermoplastic resin, blown glass diffuser. Available in four sizes – see the Castore Suspension Lamps available.

Diffuser in white handblown glass with external etched finish;
Diffuser support in steel tubing covered by a tapered sleeve in white translucent molded polycarbonate allowing for partial soft diffusion of light from diffuser;

Ceiling plate in steel with canopy in white molded thermoplastic;
Cable suspended luminaires for diffused incandescent or halogen lighting, available in four sizes;
